TP-Link TL-MR3420 Router with 3G and Wi-Fi 802.11n — Introduction

Category : TL-MR3420

TP-Link TL-MR3420 differs from many of his fellow 3G-enabled modems.

Just in case, when the main provider has stopped working, and the Internet very well, like.

This feature is relevant and summer, during the summer season.

In addition, the TL-MR3420 is not very expensive, and full Wi-Fi 802.11n support

TP-Link TL-MR3420 primarily interested in the fact that it supports not only the usual wired WAN-connection,

but also 3G-modem. Thus, the connection to the network can be used as a backup channel for access

to the Internet in those moments when the main ISP suddenly decides to conduct maintenance work or simply “fall.”

This possibility is useful for organizing wireless network in the country, where the wired network is generally absent.

Looking ahead to say that TP-Link TL-MR3420 – it’s pretty good solution for small office or a particularly fastidious users,

who need to always be online. If the “fall” in the main channel network, it will automatically be picked up 3G-connection.

However, the opposite situation is possible when the mobile Internet is used as the core, and a wired connection will be waiting in the wings.

However, we must recognize that the TP-Link TL-MR3420 has some, well, strange and quite obvious shortcomings.

Look at the possibilities of a TP-Link Router in more detail.

Why I can not connect TP-Link TL-WR741ND to my AP via wireless by using WDS?

Category : TP-Link Wireless

  • Does the main AP support WDS (4 MAC address data frame)?
  • The WDS function using 4 MAC address data frame ( Which called WDS feature),
so it need the AP also using 4 MAC address when sending/receiving
  • This issue is the same on other 11N tp-link wireless router

What is the different of WDS between TP-Link 11n device and 11b/g device?

Category : TP-Link Wireless

WDS – Wireless Distribution System
It defines connecting the TP-LINK wireless device via wireless, such as connect two wireless routers or Access Points via wireless.
And for this proposal it need the devices support Four MAC address Frame.
We also call this as WDS (technology).

  • For TP-LINK 11b/g router and Access Point, and 11n Access Point
They support WDS (technology), and we can use Bridge mode or Repeater mode to connect two wireless routers or Access Points together via wireless
  • For TP-LINK 11n router
Support WDS (technology), and we can use the WDS function to connect the router to another one via wireless.
In fact, this WDS function is AP+APC mode, just we call it WDS function,
because it is a method of connecting two wireless device according to the WDS technology
And Please also note, this WDS function only can connect to the TP-LINK wireless device which support WDS (technology)
